L'histoire d'Escape The Fate démarre à Las Vegas, peu de temps après le split du premier groupe de Ronnie (chant) et Max (basse). Ils font alors la rencontre de Bryan (guitare) et commencent à travailler avec lui. Ce dernier fait appel à Omar, un guitariste rencontré sur Myspace et qui vient d'arriver en ville après avoir quitté Hollywood et son groupe Lovehatehero. Reste à trouver un batteur et ce sera Robert, une des connaissances de Ronnie et Max.


Environ un mois plus tard, Escape The Fate voit sa première date arriver. Le quintet se lance alors dans une promo effrénée à partir de leur page Myspace. Le buzz fonctionne, plus de 200 fans répondront à l'appel. Bien que réservé aux personnes agées de 21 ans et plus, le concert affiche complet. La fan-base du combo s'aggrandit au fur et à mesure des sets, pour atteindre son apogée lors de leur premier "all-ages-show" où ils volent la vedette à un autre groupe de Las Vegas, pourtant tête d'affiche de la soirée.

Début septembre, trois semaines avant que "Dying Is Your Latest Fashion" ne remplissent les bacs des disquaires, Escape The Fate annonce qu'il se sépare de son frontman Ronnie et qu'il commence les auditions afin de lui trouver un remplaçant.
